German cellist Daniel Müller-Schott is the recipient of the prestigious German music prize "Opus Klassik Opus Klassik" in 2019 and is increasingly attracting attention. Trained by three masters, Heinrich Schiff, Steven Isserlis, and Mstislav Rostropovich, Müller-Schott is active worldwide with a high level of musicianship and expressiveness, and a wide repertoire. This year's program focuses on French works and explores the world of sound as depicted by four composers. The first is Saint-Saens, who lived through a long period from the early Romantic period to the early 20th century. His Cello Concerto No. 1, written in 1872, is also known as a masterpiece full of romantic sentiment and has been performed by many famous players. Lalo's Cello Concerto was inspired by Saint-Saens' concerto. It is energetic and has a Spanish atmosphere similar to that of the "Spanish Symphony. Fauré did not leave any cello concertos, but this "Elegy" was arranged for orchestra and cello by Fauré himself. Honegger's cello concerto, written in the 20th century, has a fascinatingly ever-changing musical theme.At times, jazz-like melodies can be heard, evoking the atmosphere of Paris at that time, which was called "the era of madness.
