4 Bay LFF

The 4 Bay LFF chassis for the HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 can accept up to eight 3.5" SAS/SATA drives. 2.5" hard drives and solid-state drives can be installed via a 2.5" to 3.5" drive converter. Drive bays for the DL360 are hot-swap, meaning that drives can be added or removed while the system is powered on. The rear of the 4 Bay LFF chassis includes two type A USB 3.0, a VGA port, a serial connector, a iLO 5 port, four 1GbE RJ45 Ethernet ports, one FLOM bay, and two hot-swap power supply bays.

8 Bay SFF

The DL360 Gen10's 8 Bay SFF chassis supports up to eight 2.5" SAS/SATA hard drives and/or solid-state drives. Drive bays for the 8 Bay SFF chassis are hot-swap. The rear of the 10 Bay SFF chassis includes two type A USB 3.0, a VGA port, a serial connector, a iLO 5 port, four 1GbE RJ45 Ethernet ports, one FLOM bay, and two hot-swap power supply bays.

10 Bay SFF

The DL360 Gen10's 10 Bay SFF chassis supports up to ten 2.5" NVMe hard drives and/or solid-state drives. Drive bays for the 10 Bay SFF chassis are hot-swap. The rear of the 10 Bay SFF chassis includes two type A USB 3.0, a VGA port, a serial connector, a iLO 5 port, four 1GbE RJ45 Ethernet ports, one FLOM bay, and two hot-swap power supply bays.

The HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 server supports up to two 3rd Generation Intel Scalable CPUs. Total of 80 cores with a total of 160 cores per processor.

DIMM slots & Memory Channels

The HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 server is a DDR4 based machine with 32 DIMM slots and 4 memory channels. Each channel consist of 4 DIMM slots.

Supported Memory Types

The DL360 Gen10 accepts both ECC Registered (RDIMM) and Load Reduced (LRDIMM) memory. It is important to not mixed together memory types. For example, if you are installing LRDIMMs into your server, do not install any RDIMMs. If you are installing RDIMMs, do not install any LRDIMMs. Mixing memory types can lead to issues such as boot failure.

Supported Memory Capacities

Capacities of 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB. 128GB is only available with LRDIMMs and 64GB are only available with RDIMM. With Load Reduced, you can achieve an overall greater RAM capacity.

Max Configurations

With ECC Registered memory, you can achieve a max of 2TB with a configuration of 32x64GB modules. With Load Reduced, the max you can achieve is 4TB with a configuration of 32x128GB modules.

Supported Memory Speeds

The DL360 Gen10 supports memory speeds of 2133MT/s, 2400MT/s, 2666MT/s, 2933MT/s, and 3200MT/s. The processor you have installed will determine the max memory speed that you can use with your system. For example, if your processor supports a max memory speed off 2666MT/s and you install a 2933MT/s module, the module will clock down to 2666MT/s. 2933MT/s is the fastest possible speed for this system.

The DL360 Gen10 chassis that you have will determine what form factor and number of drives you can install. With the 4 Bay LFF chassis, you can install up to four 3.5" SAS/SATA hard drives. 2.5" SAS/SATA HDDs and/or SSDs can be install into the 4 Bay LFF and 12 Bay LFF chassis via a 2.5" to 3.5" drive adapter. The 8 Bay SFF chassis can accept up to eight 2.5" SAS/SATA hard drives and/or solid-state drives. The 10 Bay SFF chassis can accept up to ten 2.5" hard drives or solid-state drives. All three chassis for the DL360 Gen10 are hot-swap, meaning the drives can be added or removed while the server is powered on.

Power Supplies Overview

 

The power supply options for the DL360 Gen10 are: 500W Platinum, 800W Titanium, 800W Platinum, 800W -48VDC, 800W Universal, and 1600W Platinum. Each power supply option is hot-swap, which means that PSUs can be added or removed from the server while it is running, as long as one power supply remains plugged in. There two power supply bays on the rear of each chassis option. If you install two power supplies, the wattages and voltages of the units must be matching. All power supply options for the DL360 Gen10 are great options, but the one that is best for you depends on your application. For low end applications, 500W power supplies are a grea option. For higher end applications, 800W or 1600W will work just fine.

The HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 has support for Embedded and PCIe RAID controllers. Embedded RAID controllers have a dedicated spot of the motherboard that the card is installed.

The HPE DL360 Gen10 server has four 1GbE RJ45 port integrated into the motherboard. There is also a dedidicated FlexibleLom (FLOM) slot in the rear of the system. This FLOM slot allow you to install cards with up to four ports. If you want additional networking capabilities in addition to the built in network ports and an FLOM card, you can also install PCIe network cards. FLOM and PCIe network cards are available with a variety of different speeds and port types. There are cards with port interfaces of RJ45, SFP, SFP+, SFP28, QSFP, and QSFP28. There are also speed options of 1GbE, 10GbE, 25GbE, 40GbE, and 100GbE. The number of ports, network speeds, and port interfaces that are best for you are entirely based on you applications.
