This is a collection of orchestral works by Italian contemporary composer Franco Donatoni. A contemporary of Luciano Berio and Luigi NONO, Donatoni is a giant star in the world of Italian contemporary music who has developed a variety of styles in line with changes in the history of contemporary music. This live recording was made at the Suntory Arts Foundation Summer Festival 2012, celebrating the 85th anniversary of Donatoni's birth, by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Yoichi Sugiyama, his favorite disciple. The two pieces "Prom" and "Esa" are Donatoni's last works, which were left unfinished, but Yoichi Sugiyama completed them in his own version and performed them. Tokyo M-Plus
