A talented vocalist well known in NYC for her outstanding voice control and beautiful voice, finally releases her debut album. Overall production is by her uncle, Lyle Mays. The members are all top NYC callers who have been playing with her regular band for the past few years. Tomoko Omura (vln), who is active in many fields including Camila Mesa's The Nectar Orchestra, Matt Aronoff (b), who played in Banda Magda, and Vitor Gonsalves (acc), a key figure in contemporary Brazilian music, are the guests, reflecting Aubrey Johnson's extensive activities. Members. Almost all of the arrangements are by Aubrey, and the album is filled with the breath of New York contemporary music, including the effective use of violin and bass clarinet. In addition to his own original compositions, the album includes Norma Winston's own masterpieces and covers of Annie Lennox, A.C. Jobim, and Egberto Gismonti. Various elements of jazz/classical/brazilian music and others can be heard. First release in Japan.
