✅ Excellent quality - handmade - with a bamboo matcha scoop and a 100-strand bamboo matcha whisk, you have the perfect accessories to prepare matcha tea with a smooth and creamy froth.
💡 These "conventional" matcha whisks are made in China using traditional Japanese methods. I decided to offer them to the Kumiko Matcha community to make discovering organic matcha tea as accessible and affordable as possible.

For hundreds of years, matcha tea has been prepared using the same tools: a bamboo scoop to delicately scoop the matcha green tea powder, and a bamboo whisk to whisk the tea into a creamy, delicious froth.
The bamboo matcha whisk (called chasen in Japanese) is handmade by skilled artisans from a single piece of bamboo, which is meticulously cut into 100 strands. A handmade matcha whisk is a high-quality item.
It is not possible to produce these bamboo chasen with a machine, which is why they are all unique. Our bamboo matcha whisks are designed to create a perfectly frothy and creamy matcha.
The bamboo matcha scoop (called chashaku in Japanese) is traditionally used to scoop a small quantity of matcha to make matcha tea.
This spoon is carved from a piece of bamboo and steamed to be bent by hand. It is a process that requires a lot of patience and dexterity so as not to break the bamboo.
With a bamboo matcha scoop and bamboo matcha whisk, you have the perfect accessories to prepare matcha tea with a smooth and creamy froth.
For more tips, follow our matcha tea preparation guide to use your chasen (matcha bamboo whisk) and chashaku to achieve a beautiful, smooth drink.
To extend the life of your tea set, rinse thoroughly with water to remove lumps and tea residue, without adding any products.
Be sure to always keep these delicate items dry and wipe them with a dry cloth after each use to prevent mold.
💡 To store your bamboo whisk, I recommend using a naoshi whisk holder, which preserves the shape of the bamboo and greatly extends its lifespan.
